Mrs. Lucille Mayo Moore, age 77, a resident of 520 E. 9th St., Washington, died Thursday October 28, 2010 at Beaufort County Medical Center.
A graveside funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday November 1, 2010 at Oakdale Cemetery officiated by Steve Hill. Pallbearers will be Dalton Moore, William Jackson, Dennis Furlough, Chase Edwards, Keith Kidwell and Jason Kidwell.
Mrs. Moore was born in Beaufort County on November 25, 1932, daughter of the late William John Mayo and the late Minnie Mae Paramore Mayo. She attended Chocowinity High School. She married William Bright Moore, Jr. on January 11, 1949 who preceded her in death on July 15, 1983. Mrs. Moore dedicated her life to being a dedicated and devoted wife and mother.
Survivors include a son: Dalton L. Moore and his wife Martha of Louisburg, NC; a daughter: Brenda M. Jackson of Washington; her brother: Dalton Mayo of Clinton, NC; five sisters: Ann Coover of Irvine, CA, Bea Woolard of Virginia Beach, VA, Faye Williams of Kingman, AZ, and Joyce Mayo and Brenda Cox both of Washington; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by two sons: Russell A. Moore and William B. Moore, III; three brothers: William Earl Mayo, Thurman Mayo and Russell Mayo and two sisters: Melva Swiger and Net Crisp.
The family will receive friends 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday October 31, 2010 at Paul Funeral Home of Washington and at other times at the home.
