Miss Doris Larue Adams, age 67, of 322 Circle St., Washington, NC, went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on Monday, November 29, 2010, after a long battle with cancer. Doris fought the good fight kept the faith, now she has earned her crown and received her place in heaven. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Washington Assembly of God officiated by Senior Pastor Kenneth Pritchard and Pastor Stephen Evans. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, December 1, 2010, at Washington Assembly of God and other times at the home of her sister, Edith Mason, 321 Circle St., Washington.
Pallbearers are Kevin Rogers, Ronnie Boyd, B.J. Pollard, Gene Flowers, Chad Langley and James Bennett.
Doris was born October 5, 1943, the daughter of the late Sam Adams and Maggie Adams. She was a faithful member of Washington Assembly of God.
Doris loved to travel, ride motorcycles and be with her friends. She had the gift of friendship which made for her many lifelong friends. Doris worked in food management and the last several years at Tayloe Hospital Pharmacy. She was a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother and friend to many.
She is survived by one daughter, Sherry Bennett of Washington; one son, Frankie Langley, Jr. of Wilmington; two grandchildren, Chad Langley and wife Rachel their children, Zoe Langley and Memphis Langley, and grandson James Bennett. Three brothers: Tom Adams and wife Lou Ellen of Washington, Bill Adams of Washington and Sam Adams, Jr. of Washington, DC. Three sisters: Miss Evelyn Brewer and Edith Mason both of Washington; and Sue Flowers and husband Gene of Smithfield, NC. Her nieces and nephews: Wayne Brewer, Jr. his three sons and daughter, Joanna Masters and son and two daughters, Teresa Kelly and her son, B. J. Pollard and three daughters, Tommie Bridgeman her husband and three sons, Sam Adams and two daughters, Michael Adams two daughters and son, Bill Adams, Jr. and daughter and Tina Lee Brady one son and daughter. She was preceded in death by her niece Lisa Jefferson Dupree, who is survived by two sons and four daughters.
Joseph B. Paul, Jr., funeral service licensee, is serving the Adams family.
