Mrs. Jane Page Walden, age 69, a resident of 1306 N. Respess St., Washington, NC, died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2010 at the Beaufort County Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010 at the Trinity Episcopal Church of Chocowinity officiated by the Reverend Sonny Browne. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Danny Whitfield, David Jaggers, Drew Taylor, Phillip Smith, Drew Taylor, Justin Kelley, Earnest Cutler and Kevin Cutler will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Walden was born in Beaufort County on June 28, 1941, daughter of the late Robert Cotton Page and Lena Elizabeth Harding Page who survives. She was a 1959 graduate of Washington High School and continued her education at East Carolina University. She married Andrew Jackson Walden on June 8, 1973, who preceded her in death on June 28, 2010. Mrs. Walden started her career at the former Beaufort County Hospital as an ER Clerk and was working in the admitting office at the time of her retirement following twenty-plus years of service. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Chocowinity.
Surviving along with Mrs. Waldens mother, Lena Page of Washington, are three daughters: Katherine Capel Taylor and her husband Drew of Cary, Sherry Capel Whitfield and her husband Danny of Williamston and Page Capel Jaggers and her husband David of Washington; three stepchildren: Andrea Christoffel and her husband Karl-Heinz of Germany, David Walden of Augusta, GA, and Diana Walden Weaver of Augusta, GA; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Mrs. Walden was preceded in death by her father, Bob Page, and a stepdaughter, Sharon Walden.
The family will receive friends from noon until the funeral hour at Trinity Episcopal Church Parrish Hall on Saturday and at other times before 6 p.m. at the home.
