Mr. Lubie Earl Harris, age 64, a resident of 150 Haddock Drive, Vanceboro, N.C., died Nov. 9, 2010 at the VA Hospital in Durham, N.C.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 19, 2010, at Pamlico Memorial Gardens officiated by Rev. Johnny Jones.
Mr. Harris was born in Pitt County on June 7, 1946, son of the late Lubie Fernando Harris and the late Eva Wooten Harris. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps with a tour in Vietnam and the U.S. Air Force before retiring under medical conditions with an honorable discharge.
Mr. Harris is survived by a daughter: Ginger Wagoner of Vanceboro; two grandchildren: Elizabeth Harris and Henry L. Harris; three brothers: John Harris of Greenville, Tommy Harris of Washington and Danny Harris of Chocowinity; and two sisters: Judy Robinson of Ayden and Shirley Rouse of Snow Hill.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to Disabled American Veterans, Beaufort County Chapter 48, 3247 U.S. Highway 17 North, Washington, NC, 27889.
