Sue B. Tetterton, age 72, a resident of Broad Creek Road, Washington, died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2010, at Beaufort County Medical Center. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec. 18, 2010, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Hillside Funeral Service. Dennis Barber will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service hour.
Mrs. Tetterton was born on May 30, 1938 in Beaufort County, daughter of the late James Martin Bass and former Josephine Edwards. She attended Beaufort County schools. She was married to Cyril Tetterton, who preceded her in death on Jan. 12, 2009. She worked at Sampson Shirt Factory, where she later retired. After her retirement, she and her husband operated Tetterton Produce. She was a lifelong resident of Beaufort County. Mrs. Tetterton was a member of Unity Church of Christ.
Survivors include one son, Jim Tetterton and wife of Washington and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Timothy Norman Tetterton; one daughter, Teresa Josephine Tetterton; and a brother, Rudolph Bass.
