Elisha Gay, 84, of 8865 Highway 17 N. Bypass, Vanceboro, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010, at Carolina East Medical Center.
He was a native of Beaufort County, N.C. and a resident of Vanceboro for many years. His membership at Queen Chapel FWB Church included serving as a Deacon.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 26, 2010 at Queen Chapel FWB Church with the Rev. Charles Sims, Sr., officiating and the Rev. Vandy Mitchell eulogizing. The burial will be in the Maple Grove Church Cemetery, Chocowinity.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Gay of the home; two sons, Kerry Gay of Dallas, Texas, and Karl Gay of Virginia; one daughter, Alfreda Harris of Vanceboro; one sister, Clemmie Cox of Pitt County; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. 
The family will receive friends at the residence. Viewing will be at Oscar’s Mortuary Thursday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to noon and at the church Sunday one hour prior to the service.
