Christina Dunaway Williams, a former resident of Washington, N.C., died on Dec. 30, 2010, after a long illness at the age of 79. Christina Williams was a lifelong supporter of the performing arts and founder and director of the Ballet Arts Workshop. A much beloved and gifted teacher and choreographer, she furnished students to the North Carolina School of the Arts and to major ballet companies.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas A. Williams, and three daughters, Lisa Williams Gelbard, Andrea B. Williams and Christina Burford; a brother, Col. Roy S. Dunaway Jr.; and a sister, Mary Sue Jones; and three grandchildren.
Graveside services: 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 3, 2011, at Historic Flemington Presbyterian Church Cemetery, in Flemington, Ga.
Fairhaven Funeral Home Hubert C. Baker Chapel, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, Ga 31406, was in charge of arrangements.
