Mr. Robert Kemp Edwards was born in Washington, N.C., on Nov. 11, 1964, to Joyth and Grover Edwards. Kemp was married to his sweetheart, Terri, on June 17, 1989. Together they moved to Panama City, Fla.; Jesup, Ga.; and finally, Raleigh, N.C.
Being a 1988 ECU graduate, Kemp enjoyed ECU football, as well as, fishing and the outdoors. He worked as the Supervisor of Recreation at the Federal Correction Complex in Butner, N.C. He was a lay leader and youth Sunday School teacher at Windborne UMC and involved with the HOC Emmaus Community. Even in his death, Kemp has continued to help others by becoming an organ donor.
He is survived by his wife, Terri; son, Davis; mother, Joyth Edwards; brother, Allen and wife, Bambi; and countless family and friends that will miss him dearly.
He is predeceased by his father, Grover Edwards.
Family and friends will gather on Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Windborne UMC in Raleigh. The memorial service will follow at 3 p.m.
