Mrs. Pauline Elizabeth Brantley Rowe, 80, a resident of 400 Seventh St., Aurora, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
A graveside service will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011, at Pamlico Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Paul Funeral Home of Washington.
Mrs. Rowe was born in Beaufort County on Nov. 4, 1930, daughter of the late George Ernest and Minnie Elizabeth Brantley. On Dec. 30, 1948, she married Malcolm Price Rowe, Sr., who survives. Mrs. Rowe was an avid golfer, loved gardening and bird watching. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mrs. Rowe was a member of Aurora Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Rowe is survived by two children: Malcolm Price Rowe, Jr. and wife, Nancy of Washington, and Deborah Saunders and husband, Kirby of Wilson, one brother: Keith Brantley and wife, Sallie of Aurora, four grandchildren: Stacy Brooks and husband, Milton of Washington, Katie Clark and husband, Joel of Knightdale, Lauren Rowe of Greenville, and Lindsay Gurganus and husband, Russ of Washington, two great-grandchildren: Alexis and Bryson Brooks of Washington, and two nieces: Anne Long of Washington, and Carolyn Ewing of Cary.
Mrs. Rowe is preceded in death by a sister: Zelda Brantley.
