Russell Rosier Lupton, 62, long time resident of Swan Quarter, and more recently residing in High Point, died Friday, February 11, 2011 in Greensboro.
Born December 26, 1948 to Jackson Augustus and Mary Roberta Rosier Lupton, he was a special needs son and was an integral part of the Hyde County Community throughout his life. He attended school in Swan Quarter and Belhaven and was presently taking classes at Guilford County Technical Community College.
Russell moved to the High Point area following his mother’s death so that he could live near his caregivers, Sue Lupton and Bill Dudley. He was a member of Providence United Methodist Church and was a helper to many in Swan Quarter.
Instead of a traditional funeral service, there will be a celebration and remembrance of Russell at the Lupton Home on Second Street in Swan Quarter on Sunday, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and friends and relatives are invited to come and share in fellowship and refreshments. Burial will be alongside his parents in Soule Cemetery.
The body will lie in state at Bryan Funeral Service, Swan Quarter between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Sunday and online sympathy messages may be directed to www.bryanfs.com
