Mr. Henry Stoner Heffley, Jr., age 80, Hollywood Blvd., Havelock, North Carolina, died at his home on Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011, at Woodbridge Funeral Home in Havelock and will be conducted by Dennis Davis. Graveside services with full military honors will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011, at Davis Cemetery in Pantego.
Mr. Heffley was born in Lincoln, Nebraska, on Jan. 1, 1931, son of the late Henry and Lavetta Van Horn Heffley. He was married to Edna Ernisteen (Teen)╩Allen Heffley on May 30, 1952. Henry (“Heff” or “Hank”) served as a communications officer in the Marine Corps from July 13, 1948, until June 15, 1970, when he retired.╩He served his country in the Korean War and the Vietnam War. Heff worked for Ward and Smith, PA, New Bern, North Carolina as comptroller from 1972 until 1988. He was a devoted family man and dog lover.
Survivors include his wife, Teen of Havelock, two daughters, Connie Heffley Olsovsky and husband Wayne of Havelock, Kathy Heffley Anderson and husband Mark of Pine Knoll Shores, two sons, Kenneth Heffley and wife Karen of Bath, and Craig Heffley and wife Michelle of Durham, seven grandchildren, Matt Olsovsky and wife Shelly, Aaron Olsovsky, Sara Anderson, Cameron Waters, Kelly Heffley, Hunter Anderson and Amanda Heffley and one great granddaughter, Kendall Olsovsky.
The family will receive friends at Woodbridge Funeral Home, 908 Lake Road, Havelock, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 25, 2011. The family will also receive friends one hour prior to the graveside service on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011, at the Union Grove Church of Christ, 6889 NC Highway 99 N. Pantego, North Carolina.
