Metropolitan should be audited

To the Editor:

I find it quite interesting that certain elected county commissioners voted to give Rev. David Moore’s Metropolitan Community Health Services $279,000 of taxpayers’ money to start up Agape Dental Services without knowing what was going on. Then the U.S. Health and Human Services gave him a whopping $900,000 at a later date without knowing what was going on. Thanks to Jonathan Clayborne we now know that the taxpayers have been had.

Since this is taxpayers’ money being spent, I suggest that the audit firm of Larson-Allen LLP of Charlotte be hired to do a complete audit of Metropolitan Community Health Services and Agape Dental Clinic and the results published in the Daily News. I believe an audit will indicate that the taxpayers would have been better served by employing local, independent dentists.
