Mrs. Lillian Cratch Eversole, age 89, a resident of Washington, died Thursday, March 24, 2011.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 26, 2011, at Pamlico Memorial Gardens and will be conducted by Steve Hill and Ray West.

Mrs. Eversole was born in Beaufort County on Nov. 7, 1921, to the late Lawrence O’Bryan Cratch and Lillian Adams Cratch. On June 6, 1952, she married John Cannady Eversole who preceded her in death on Dec. 31, 2005. She retired as a bookkeeper and office manager of the College Court Apartments in Wilson, also serving as a member of the board of directors. Mrs. Eversole was a member of First Church of Christ in Washington.

Survivors include three sons, D.L. “Butch” Adams of Apex, Benny Eversole and wife Brenda of Wytheville, Virginia, Denny Eversole and wife Jeannie of Max Meadows, Virginia; one daughter, JoAnn Eversole Sexton and husband Harold of Wytheville, Virginia; one sister, Mary Cratch Woolard; two sisters-in-law, Hilda Cratch Bass and Verona Clark Cratch both of Washington and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dempsey L. Adams, Sr.; three brothers, Cyril Cratch, L.O. Cratch and Red L. Cratch.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, March 25, 2011, at Paul Funeral Home and Crematory of Washington and other times at the home of her sister, Mary C. Woolard, 1776 John Small Ave., Washington, N.C.
