Mr. Lonnie Delmar Tetterton, Jr., 71, a resident of 3 Duckview Trail, Swan Point Community, Washington, died Friday, March 25, 2011 at his home.
The family will receive friends Sunday, March 27, 2011 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Hillside Funeral Service, 4500 Highway 264 East, Washington, N.C. and other times at the home. A funeral service will be in the chapel of Hillside Funeral Service, Monday, March 28, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with Phillip Jethro officiating. Burial will follow at Pamlico Memorial Gardens. Charles Asby, Randy Bell, Kenneth Keech, Billy Lassiter, Adam Tetterton and Mark Tetterton, Jr. will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Tetterton was born in Beaufort County on January 30, 1940 to Lonnie D. Tetterton, Sr. and Annie Wallace Tetterton. Lonnie graduated from Bath High School and furthered his education for two years at a trade school. He retired from Weyerhaeuser after 32 years of service as a pipe fitter. He attended Alligood Church of God, was a member of Beaver Dam Church of Christ and the Washington Ruritan Club.
Mr. Tetterton is survived by daughters Angela Bell and husband Randy and Hope Pitts and husband Kenny, son Lonnie Mark Tetterton and wife Gloria all of Washington, his siblings Phyllis White of Elizabeth City, Eugene Tetterton of Bayboro, Frankie Tetterton of Pinetown and Betty Hayes and husband Davis of Pinetown, 10 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
