Mrs. Hazel W. Ferrell

Mrs. Hazel Wood Ferrell, age 81, a resident of 89 Ferrell Lane, Washington, died Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at Beaufort County Medical Center in Washington.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 1, 2011, from the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home and Crematory, Washington, conducted by Rev. Scott Setzer.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2011, at Bailey Cemetery, Bailey, N.C.
Mrs. Ferrell was born in Wilson, N.C., on Sept. 17, 1929. She was the daughter of the late Milton Wood and Martha Jane Lamb Wood. Mrs. Ferrell managed the Page House Restaurant for several years. Later, she owned and operated the Carolina Fried Chicken Restaurant. After her retirement, she moved to Durham and worked in the Clerk of Court’s office. Mrs. Ferrell was a member of the Eastern Star and Grand Worthy Matron of the Pittsboro, N.C. chapter. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Washington.
Mrs. Ferrell is survived by her two grandchildren, Tabatha Ferrell and Samantha Ferrell, both of Washington; two great-grandchildren, Logan Ferrell Reason and Rowan Fawn Reason; sister, Kathryn Denton and her husband, Max of Durham; daughter-in-law, Marabeth Ferrell of Washington; sister-in-law, Mildred Wood of Sims and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 31, 2011, at Paul Funeral Home and Crematory, Washington, and other times at the home of her daughter-in law, Marabeth Ferrell, 3805 U.S. Highway 17 North, Washington.
