Mrs. Daisy Asby Leary, 89, a resident of Washington, N.C., died Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at Beaufort County Medical Center.

Funeral services will be private.

Mrs. Leary was born on April 7, 1922, daughter of the late Marshall Hoyt and Bernice Gurganus Asby. She was a licensed practical nurse who worked at Beaufort County Hospital and also did private duty nursing. She was married to Joseph S. Leary, who preceded her in death in Sept. 1992.

Mrs. Leary is survived by her children: Joseph Carter Leary, Fonda Leary Gautier her husband Robert and Deedee Leary Leggett all of Washington, N.C., six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Leary was preceded in death by a son: Gary Hoyt Leary.
