Alisa Prevatte Kelly, born August 10, 1962, a resident of 201 West Eleventh St., Washington, N.C., passed peacefully in her sleep early Thursday morning, April 14, 2011.

Alisa is survived by her husband, Mike Kelly, son, Tyler Kelly, daughter, Stephanie Kelly, step-daughter, Ashley Banks and husband, David, step-grandchildren, Riley and Dalton Banks, mother-in-law, Betty Kelly, sister-in-law, Laraine Kelly-Sentz, nieces and nephews, Kelly Cirillo, Jason and Jesse Dominquez, five grand-nieces and nephews, her mother, Molly Wilcox, father, Ray Prevatte, brother, Carl Pravette and wife, Lynn, and niece and nephew, Ava and Luke Pravette.

Alisa was a very loving and caring wife, mother and friend. Lea, as she was known by her family and close friends, had a very gentle spirit and often put the needs and feelings of others ahead of her own. She was very passionate about literature and loved music. Alisa loved animals and rescued several dogs throughout years. She always opened her home to any child that needed a meal or a place to stay.

Mrs. Kelly was a native of Lumberton, N.C. She graduated from Lumberton High School and went on to attend UNC-Pembroke. When her children were young, she stayed home and raised them. She re-entered the workforce and became co-owner of Ridgewood Manor, where she served as the Admission Coordinator and later, Activities Director. Alisa was a member of the First Christian Church in Washington, N.C.

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the home on Sunday, April 17, 2011. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 18, 2011, at First Christian Church, officiated by Dr. Michael Price. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. Kyle Cochran, William Cochran, Ray Faulkner, Lee Latham, George Mitchell, and Sean Weaver will serve as pallbearers.  Mrs. Kelly will lie in state on Sunday evening, from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Hillside Funeral Service for public viewing, and at the church, one hour prior to service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Christian Church, 401 E 2nd St., Washington, N.C. 27889, to support the music program.
