Mrs. Irene “Runt” Cox Foster, 79, a resident of 763 Cedar Village Road, Belhaven, died Wednesday afternoon, April 20, 2011, at her home.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2011, at West Belhaven Pentecostal Holiness Church officiated by the Rev. Lee Medford Hopkins.

Mrs. Foster was born April 30, 1931, daughter of the late Mose Allen Cox and Katie Mae Jones Cox. On Sept. 19, 1952, she married Hughes Foster, Sr. who preceded her in death on Nov. 28, 2003. She was a member of Wades Point Pentecostal Holiness Church and attended West Belhaven Pentecostal Holiness Church. Mrs. Foster was a homemaker.

She is survived by her son: Hughes Foster Jr. and his wife, Janet of Belhaven; her granddaughter: Tammy Elizabeth Foster of Belhaven; three sisters: Nina Lewis and Shirley Cox both of Bath and Dorothy Koonce of Washington.

The family will receive friends beginning at 6 p.m. Friday at her home located at 763 Cedar Village Road, Belhaven.
