Lorraine “Lorrie” Edwards

Lorraine Eden Edwards (Lorrie) died peacefully at her home at 243 Brittany Place, Washington, N.C., on Sunday, May 1, 2011, following a long battle with cancer.
Lorrie was born in Belhaven, N.C., on Oct. 5, 1962, to the late Charles H. Edwards, Jr., and Ann Sawyer Williams who survives.
Lorrie found her greatest joy on the water, whether it was cruising off the coast of Florida, fishing the river, or simply enjoying a long weekend at Ocracoke. She loved her family, most especially her nephew Alex.
She is survived by her mother of the home, and her sisters Terry Edwards Campbell and husband Robert of Durham, N.C., Noel Edwards Perkinson and husband Will of Salem, Va., nephew Alexander Troy Perkinson of Wilmington, N.C., and nieces Jessie Lynn and Rachel Marie Perkinson. She is also survived by her boyfriend Michael C. Polovitch of Belhaven, N.C. She was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Charles and Mattie Edwards and maternal grandparents Troy and Olieze Sawyer.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
