To the Editor:

In these tough economic times, I was so proud of the people of Beaufort County who contributed to the 2011 Relay for Life. Though our goal was not reached, you are to be commended for your generosity of money and time. Lisa Alligood, chair, and her dedicated planning team do a great job each year. And, yes it is a year-long job.

We cancer survivors, family and friends appreciate what is done for us each year. The Relay is also a memorial for our family and friends who have not survived cancer. To my Bosom Buddies team, thanks for working so hard. Way to go!
