Mr. James Louis Bailey of 1860 Shepherd Lane, Williamston, N.C., died May 12, 2011, at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, N.C.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at Temple of Jesus Christ Church. Burial will follow in Shepherd Family Cemetery.

Mr. Bailey was born to the late Theopilous and Elizabeth Beasley Bailey of March 27, 1934. He attended P.S. Jones School. He was married to Mrs. Reola Mae Shepherd who preceded him in death. He was a member of Temple of Jesus Christ Church.

Survivors: three sons: Kenneth Bailey of Durham, N.C., Mike Bailey and Lewis Tyrone Bailey of Clayton, N.C., four sisters Juanita Little and Annie Evans of Washington, N.C., Mary Dawes of Pinetops, N.C., Mattie Brown of Williamston, N.C., two brothers, Fred Bailey of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Rickey Bailey of Williamston, N.C., 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two daughters Reola and Leola Bailey, one son, William Bailey, three brothers Arthur, Andrew and William Bailey.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 17, 2011, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Leon Randolph Memorial Chapel.
