Around 12:26 a.m. Tuesday, the Washington Police Department responded to the Comfort Inn, 1636 Carolina Ave., in reference to an alleged armed robbery.

Officers report that a black man entered the hotel, displayed a handgun and demanded money from the night clerk. The man fled the area on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. No injuries were reported.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
