Sound Off highlights anonymous, brief takes on the news offered via telephone by Daily News readers.
The proposal by the city council to reduce electric fees for residents is at the very least unethical.
Hood Richardson is correct in wanting to cut funding for non-profits. Tax dollars should not support these enterprises, including the Turnage Theater or the Chamber of Commerce. Tax dollars should only be used for vital public needs. Unfortunately Hood’s reason for cutting the Chamber is vindictive and unethical and that is wrong.
Why don’t the people in Beaufort County wake up? Why are we paying hospitalization and health care insurance on county commissioners? We should not be paying that.
I love the Washington festival shirts with new designs yearly but what is always missing is North Carolina on the shirt. Washington should be identified as being in North Carolina.
