Children ages 5 through 10 are invited to learn more about the Civil War as the Historic Bath state historic site recognizes the 150th anniversary of the beginning of the war with the program The Civil War for Children.

The two-day program will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 7-8 at the visitors center, located at 207 Carteret St.

The per-person fee for this program is $15, which covers program supplies, snacks and lunch each day.

The Civil War will be discussed on an age-appropriate level, highlighting some of the famous people and events.

Coloring pages will reinforce teaching moments along with craft activities and games. The book “Billy and the Rebel” will be read, and the featured movie will be Disney’s 1963 movie “Johnny Shiloh” starring Brian Keith and Kevin Corcoran.

Space is limited to 20 children, so preregistration is strongly suggested.
