Together NC has it together

To the Editor:

According to the editorial in the June 11 WDN, Together NC is “an aggregation of around 130 left-wing groups.” Had the editorialist taken the simple precaution of Googling “Together NC” before publishing that inapt description, s/he would have found that Together NC is “a coalition of over 120 advocacy groups, service providers and professional associations” and includes among its partners the Autism Society of N.C., the N.C. Association for the Deaf, the N.C. Coalition Against Domestic Violence, the N.C. Conservation Network, the N.C. Tuberous Sclerosis Association, Inc., the Speech Language Disability Services, the United Way of North Carolina, and AARP N.C.

If it is “left-wing” to care about the deaf, the autistic, victims of domestic violence, the environment, sufferers of tuberous sclerosis, people with speech and language disabilities, senior citizens, and nonprofits that serve young people, disaster victims, the hungry, and others in need, then what does that say about “right-wing”?
