KINSTON — Herbert Taylor Dixon, 72 of 2624 Fred Everett Road passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at his home. He served in the U.S. Army and worked for over 28 years as a nuclear pipefitter supervisor with the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Nettie Barnette Dixon, his sisters, Helen Boyette, Ella Mae Woolard, Betsy Martin and his brothers, Johnny and Robert Dixon.
Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2011 from the chapel of Garner Funeral Home. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.Survivors include his daughter, Tina Dixon Lewis and husband, Darrell of Snow Hill; his son, Herbert Taylor Dixon, Jr. and wife, Vanessa of Youngsville; his sisters, Sarah Mayo of Washington, NC, Audrey Kelly of Virginia Beach, VA; his brothers, William Bryan Dixon of Amarillo, TX and Charles Dixon of Yorktown, VA; his grandchildren, Charles Nahrebecki and wife, Rebecca of Kinston, Bobbi Marie Neal of Snow Hill, Tyler, Evan and Madison Dixon of Youngsville; a great grandson, Anthony Nahrebecki and special friends, Morty and Ruth Binder of Newport News, VA.
