Why would the city need a person’s Social Security number in regards to an electric deposit? People don’t want to give out their Social Security numbers.
For everyone who is concerned about local vendors not being used for the Fourth of July celebration: Local vendors were given first opportunity, including Bill’s Hot Dogs, but they chose not to participate. Therefore, business was taken outside the area.
There they go again. First, the school board uses a Pitt County business for catering, and now the county commissioners go to Martin County for their food needs. When will these elected officials realize who pays the taxes around here? Get with it. Use local businesses. We can do a good job for you.
Let’s see if I have this right: Washington City Council members get a salary that includes $350 a month, intended to cover the cost of them using their personal vehicles when doing town business. Now, we want to leave their pay the same and start paying them government mileage rates. Does that sound like a $350 per month raise? What is wrong with that picture?
A Tier One county like Beaufort does not need seven commissioners. Cut the fat. Go with five and have limited terms to serve. Thank you.
Why hasn’t the hospital released monthly financial statements since September 2010? How much will the taxpayers of Beaufort County owe for the deficit the hospital is running?
