Antonio “Tony” Cilluffo

Mr. Antonio “Tony” Cilluffo, age 41, a resident of Washington died Thursday June 30, 2011 at Carteret General Hospital in Morehead City.
A Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday July 6, 2011 at the Harvest Church, 2120 West 15th Street, Washington, NC officiated by Father Arturo Cabra. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Bill Tucker, Mike Beacham, Greg Smith, Jim Buckman, Jack Schulz and Larry Swanner will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Baldwin and Mark Sillitoe.
Tony was born in Carini Sicilia, Italy on March 10, 1970 son of the late Giuseppe Cilluffo and Giuseppa Mannino Cilluffo who survives. He attended schools in Carini, Sicilia and moved to the United States and at age 16 moved with his family to Washington. Tony married the former Carol “Jennette” Swanner on August 15, 1998 who survives. He was co-owner and co-operator of Franks’ Pizza of Washington.
Tony was a member of Mother of Mercy Catholic Church where he served as Main Altar Server for the 8:00 AM Mass. He was also a Third Degree member with Knights of Columbus of Washington.
Surviving along with Tony’s wife Jennette of the home are two children: a daughter Adriana Cilluffo and a son Giuseppe “Joseph” Cilluffo both of the home; his mother: Giuseppa Mannino Cilluffo of Carini Sicilia; a brother: Vincenzo “Vinnie” Cilluffo and his wife Mary Anne of Blount’s Creek; two sisters: Caterina Licari and Girolama “Mimma” Sacca’ of Carini Sicilia; two nieces: Cristina Cilluffo and Gabriella Cilluffo both of Blount’s Creek; several nieces and nephews in Italy and his mother-in-law Carolyn Swanner of Washington.
A Rosary Service will be held 6:00 PM Tuesday July 5, 2011 followed by a visitation until 8:30 PM at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington.
In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to the Adriana Cilluffo Trust Fund or Giusepe Cilluffo Trust Fund, 2013 W. 15th Street, Washington, NC 27889 or to Mother of Mercy Catholic Church, Building Fund, 112 West 9th Street, Washington, NC 27889
