Mrs. Jean Carolyn Perry Dixon, age 81, a resident of 50 Elks Road, Chocowinity, N.C., died Monday, July 11, 2011, at her home.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 14, 2011, at Pamlico Memorial Gardens officiated by Greg Richards. Pallbearers will be Chris Dixon, Steven Dixon, Mathew Whitley, Tina Garris, Chris Whitley and Bobby Paige.
Mrs. Dixon was born in Rockingham, Ga., on Aug. 5, 1929, daughter of the late John Henry Perry and the late Amanda Pearilee Nipper Perry. She married Albert Wesley Dixon on June 17, 1947, who preceded her in death on June 10, 2009. Mrs. Dixon was a member of Hodges Chapel Holiness Church who dedicated her life to being a homemaker for her family.
Mrs. Dixon is survived by two daughters: Susan Whitley and Carolyn Garris, both of Chocowinity; a son: John W. Dixon of Atoka, Tenn.; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law: Linwood W. Whitley; a sister: Grace A. Rutland and a brother: John A. Perry.
The family will receive friends at Mrs. Dixon’s home located at 50 Elks Road, Chocowinity, N.C.
