To the Editor:

The cat room at the Beaufort County animal shelter is close to overflowing with some truly interesting and deserving tenants: a young, orange cat that is so happy to get his food that he gobbles like a turkey; twin, gray teenagers whose heads go back and forth as they watch everything that goes on; an affectionate, orange mama; a pair of best friends, both neutered and de-clawed, who spend all their time together; two glossy, black-and-white “tuxedo” cats; kittens just old enough to play together.

If you’ve been thinking about getting a new cat companion, or two, you’d have a hard time selecting from these beautiful, sweet animals. Call the animal shelter, 946-4517, for shelter hours.
