BHM Regional Library is there for you

To the Editor:

On behalf of the staff of the BHM Regional Library, I would like to thank everyone who has commented on the changes in our public hours for their concern and support.

We were indeed sad to announce that the headquarters of the BHM Regional Library, located at 158 N. Market St. in Washington, will be open to the public only on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. However, the BHM Regional Library also operates public libraries open six days per week (Monday-Saturday) throughout Beaufort, Hyde and Martin counties: in Aurora, Bath, Belhaven, Mattamuskeet, Ocracoke, Robersonville and Williamston (which is also open on Sunday).

At all of our branches, we offer a full range of services including free public access to the Internet, free wi-fi, audiobooks, DVDs and books. Our outreach services bring books and other materials to daycare centers and the elderly homebound. Our branch libraries also offer special programs by local authors and scholars, instruction on computer use, and, yes, storytimes for the children.

For more information about what the BHM Regional Library can do for you and your family, just contact your local library. Or, call us at the headquarters library (our phones still work!) at 946-6401.
