Frank T. Hill

Mr. Frank Trent Hill, age 83, a resident of 106 Lawson Road, Washington, NC died Thursday August 18, 2011 at The Hospice House in Greenville, NC.
A celebration of life service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday August 22, 2011 at the First Christian Church in Washington, NC officiated by Rev. Danny Allen. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. Jason Pair, Bryan Pair, Lee Pair, Frank Trent “Bo” Hill, III, Prescott Hill, Charles Howard and John Marshall Howard, grandsons of Mr. Frank Hill will be pallbearers. Billy Green, Marcian Bouchard, Doug Mercer, Ron Shea, Ben Woolard, Clyde Roberson, Dr. Joe Ward and Richard Westbrook will be honorary pallbearers.
Mr. Hill was born in Guilford County on December 12, 1927, son of the late George W. Hill and Ada Fulk Hill. On December 26, 1950, he married the former Louise Griffin, his wife of 60 years.
Mr. Hill was a graduate of Greensboro High School and attended Kings Business College. He served in the Merchant Marine during World War II. Mr. Hill managed the Royal Crown Bottling Company in Greensboro and Greenville, NC for 30 years. When he left this business, he managed and was co-owner of Paul Auto Supply in Washington until his retirement in 1995. Mr. Hill was a member of the Christian Church for over 50 years. He loved his church and choir, involvement with barbershop singing, The Blind Center, playing golf and visiting family and friends.
In addition to his wife, Louise, of the home, he is survived by his four children and their spouses: Frank Trent Hill, Jr. and wife Anna White Hill of Hartsville, SC, J. Scott Hill and wife Lynn Johnson Hill of Wilson, Susan Hill Crawford and husband Carl Crawford, Jr. of Greenville, Betsy Hill Howard and husband, Greg Howard of Washington; 7 grandsons: Jason Pair and wife Susan Pair of Greenville, Bryan Pair and wife Nichole Pair of Washington, Lee Pair of Greenville, Prescott Hill of Wilson, Charles Howard of Upland, CA, John Marshall Howard of Washington and Frank Trent “Bo” Hill, III  of NY; two granddaughters: Scottie Hill and Becky Hill both of NY; three great-grandchildren: Joelie and Harbor Pair of Washington and Cecilia Pair of Greenville; three stepgrandsons: Carl Crawford, III, David Crawford and Marc Crawford all of Greenville; one stepgreat-grandson: Parker Crawford of Greenville; one sister: Mary Anne Scherff of Greensboro and many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, George W. Hill, Jr.
The family will receive friends 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday August 21, 2011 at the home located at 106 Lawson Road, Washington.
