Mrs. Sheila Renee Burke Jett, age 53, a resident of N.C. Highway 32 North, Pinetown, N.C., passed away Thursday, Sept. 15, 2011, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. A celebration of her life will be held today, Sept. 17, 2011, at Five Points Free Will Baptist Church, Pinetown, N.C., at 2 p.m. officiated by pastor David Young. Special music by Jean Waters. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Jett was born on April 26, 1958, in Norfolk, Va., daughter of the late Robert Burke and Georgia Corder Burke, who survives. Sheila was a cosmetology school graduate and worked the voting polls. She married Benson “Curtis” Jett Sr. on Oct. 7, 1995, who survives.

Along with her husband and mother, she is survived by her son, Christopher Brandon Davis of Ayden, N.C., and a sister, Terri Burke Butler of New Port, N.C.
