On Sept. 9, investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested Alex Christopher Nelson, 21, of 1470 Swamp Road in Pantego after Nelson refused to stop his vehicle when investigators initiated a traffic stop with blue lights and sirens. A short chase ensued and Nelson was taken into custody in front of his residence. A search of Nelson and his vehicle revealed a plastic baggie containing marijuana, a set of digital scales containing cocaine residue and packaging material.

Nelson was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while license revoked and failure to heed blue light or siren.

Nelson was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $4,500 secured bond.
