Two players from the East Carolina Trojans and their assistant coach pose with Shannon Braxton’s fourth-grade class during a Sept. 15 visit to Chocowinity Primary School. The players, Trumaine Boston and Termaine Totten, and the coach, John Lampkins, spoke to students throughout the school about the importance of staying in school, listening to their teachers and working hard for good grades. Boston is an alumni of Washington High School, and Lampkins attended Chocowinity Primary School, Chocowinity Middle School and Chocowinity High School. Following their presentation, the men signed autographs as requested by the students. The Trojans, one of 92 professional basketball teams across the state and the only one based in eastern North Carolina, were scheduled to play a scrimmage game Sept. 17 at the Bobby Andrews Recreation Center in Washington.
