Disruptive Detour

Ongoing drainage work in the Smallwood community presents challenges to motorists because Reed Drive — an ingress and egress to the neighborhood — will be closed about four months. For Smallwood residents, Reed Drive provides access to the eastern side of Washington. Its closing is forcing motorists who usually use Reed Drive to use detours to enter or exit Smallwood. The work in Smallwood is part of a $5 million project to improve drainage in Washington. (WDN Photo/Betty Mitchell Gray)
