Pursuant to the order of Mayor Archie Jennings, the Washington City Council will conduct a special meeting at 8 a.m. Tuesday in the Council Chambers of the Municipal Building, 102 E. Second St.

The purpose of the meeting is to enter into a closed session to discuss an economic-development matter, protect the attorney-client privilege and discuss personnel matters. A public body may hold a closed session to discuss matters related to the location or expansion of industries or other businesses in the area served by the public body, reads state law regarding the meetings of public bodies such as a city council.
