McKinney faces several charges

On Friday, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a larceny at Travel Store No. 7 on U.S. Highway 264 east of Washington. Deputies responded to the store and conducted interviews. The owner of the business reported that an employee removed money from the store on three different dates.
As a result of information collected at the scene, Sgt. Jeremy Landeck arrested Mary Sue McKinney, 40, of Cameron’s Place, Pantego, and charged her with three counts of larceny by employee. McKinney was transported to the magistrates’ office and taken before Magistrate D. Curtis. She was held under a $5,000 secured bond.
McKinney also was charged with one count of possession of a Schedule II controlled substance when pills were found in her possession during her arrest. McKinney was placed under a $500 unsecured bond related to the drug charge.
