As a member of a fishing family and community, I am disgusted that the state brags on North Carolina seafood yet Marine Fisheries does nothing to help the out-of-work fisherman. There is no disaster unemployment benefits out here in Pamlico Beach wasteland. After a disappointing season, making no money on their catch. They are losing their boats and houses. Oyster season should be on now. And remember, buy local.
