William E. Taylor

William E. Taylor, age 83, transitioned to his eternal home on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011, in Yorktown, Va.
William was born in Pantego to the late Willie and Melissa Taylor. In 1957, William relocated to Brooklyn, N.Y., where he was employed with Export Packing Company of Bayonne, N.J., Santini Brothers Moving & Storage, and Allied Van Lines as a commercial truck driver. Before leaving Pantego in early 1957, he had been a farmer. He had also been employed at the pulp mill in Plymouth. After retirement, he became a resident of Hampton, Va.
Leaving to cherish his precious memories are three children: William E. Taylor Jr. and special friend Gladys Dills of Queens Village, N.Y., Ethel T. Windley and husband Robert of Yorktown, Va., and Anthony Taylor and wife Marian of Orange, N.J.; three brothers, Willie Taylor and wife Hazel of Hampton, Va., Dennis Taylor and wife Marjorie of Philadelphia, Pa., and Charlie Taylor of Pantego; one sister, Geraldine Bunch of Chocowinity; a brother-in-law, Roosevelt Davis; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
William had two sisters and a brother who preceded him in death, Cora Burton, Clara Aikens, and Paul Taylor.
A viewing was held on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2011, at Perkins Funeral Home in Hampton, Va. A celebration of life service will be held at noon tomorrow at Weeping Mary Church of Christ–Disciples of Christ, Beach Ridge Road, Pantego. Viewing will be held in the church, one hour before the service.
