On Friday, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office arrested Gregvon Satterthwaite, 31, of 541 Edward St., Belhaven.

Satterthwaite’s arrest stemmed from investigators with the sheriff’s office’s drug unit conducting a controlled purchase of prescription pain medication. Satterthwaite was arrested by patrol deputies at his residence.

Satterthwaite was charged with level I and level III trafficking in opium by possession, level I and level III trafficking in opium by transportation and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Satterthwaite was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond.
