Southside High School hosted the Northeast District 1 North Carolina Family, Career and Community Leaders of America Fall Leadership Conference on Nov. 8.
Over 175 FCCLA members, along with their advisers, from 10 schools in eastern North Carolina, learned about some of the FCCLA national programs and attended presentations on various topics.
Southside FCCLA President Kayla Peed and family and consumer-science interns from East Carolina University also presented at the workshop.
FCCLA members must attend the district workshops to go to the state convention in March.
Vicki Harrell and Beth Bennett, Southside FCCLA advisers, were the hostesses along with the 31 SHS FCCLA members.
