David Lee Womble

Mr. David Lee Womble, age 49, a resident of Toler’s Ave., Blount’s Creek, died Monday, Dec. 12, 2011.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Weston family cemetery officiated by Marty Alligood. Brent Hodges, Dean Toler, Terry Hodges, Charles Lawrence, Eric Mayo and Matthew Brown will serve as pallbearers. Dallas Toler will serve as honorary pallbearer.
David was born in Greenville, S.C., on Nov. 29, 1962, the son of Dorothy Mae O’Ham Womble and the late Tony Lee Womble Jr. He was a 1980 graduate of New Bern High School and attended ECU School of Music. David was a former employee of Fleet Readiness Center East. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his sister, Toni Lawrence and husband Charles of Harker’s Island; his nephew, Eric Mayo of Clayton; his niece, Rhiannon Brown and husband Matthew of King George, Va., and their children, Max and Anna.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Paul Funeral Home, Washington, and other times at the home of his mother, located at 949 Toler’s Ave., Blount’s Creek.
