Sound Off highlights anonymous, brief takes on the news offered via telephone by Daily News readers.

The city passed the no-bird-and-cat-feeding ordinances for a reason. Hungry cats eat rats. Unfortunately, hungry cats can’t catch seagulls.

I’ve been raising peacocks and peahens for 20 years, and before Hurricane Irene I had 13, and 12 of them were killed during the storm. I have one male peacock left. If anybody knows where I can get some more peacocks or peahens, a pair or at least a peahen, please call me 571-5840.

Please do not feed the seagulls in Festival Park. I had to get my handkerchief out, not only clean off the bench before I could sit down, but I later had to take my car through the car wash when I’d been at the playground with my grandchildren. There were people there just throwing bread out to the seagulls. That’s not the place to feed them because they poop everywhere.

My husband and I love to go to dinner in downtown Washington just to see the cats running in and out of the old buildings downtown. It’s an extra treat to catch one of them with a mousie in his mouth. Just sayin’.
