Jammie “Jimmie” Medford Daniels Jr.

Mr. Jammie “Jimmie” Medford Daniels Jr., age 70, a resident of the Ponzer Community of Hyde County, passed away Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012, peacefully in his sleep. A funeral service and celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, in the chapel of Hillside Funeral Service, officiated by Patrick Harrison and assisted by Patricia Daniels. A reception will be held for family and friends immediately following the service.

Mr. Jimmie was born on July 30, 1941, in Aurora, son of the late James Medford Daniels Sr. and Dorothy Tate Daniels of Belhaven, who survives. Mr. Daniels was a self-employed contractor and commercial fisherman.

In addition to his mother, survivors include his daughter, Lori Bennett of Winterville; son, Jimmy Daniels of Belhaven; two brothers, Johnny Daniels of Belhaven and Charles Daniels of Washington; sister, Loretta Edwards of Mt. Olive; and four grandchildren.

Mr. Daniels was preceded in death by a son, William David Daniels in 1986 and one brother, Howard Stewart Daniels.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that all donations be made to the American Heart Association, 3219 Landmark St., Suite 9A, Greenville, NC  27834, in honor of Mr. Jammie Daniels Jr.
