Frank Husso Richard Falkson, 80, of 626 West Waterway Drive, Belhaven, died late Friday, January 13, 2012, at his home.
Born in Germany, March 25, 1930, he was the son of the late Karl Ferdinand and Barbara Helene Carnugh Falkson. He came to the United States in 1939 from England where he served in the British Army System with the Royal Horse Guards. A veteran of the United States Marines, he retired after 28 years of service serving in telecommunications during the time of two tours in Vietnam in 1968 and 1972. He retired at Camp Lejeune, N.C., in 1981. Following his military retirement, he worked on special Naval projects in Virginia Beach, Va., as a Senior Telecommunication Analyst until 1998.
A time of Remembering and Visitation will be held at Bryan Funeral Service, Swan Quarter on Saturday, January 21, 2012 between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. Inurnment will follow in Arlington National Cemetery at a later time.
Surviving are his wife, Iris Bear Falkson; a son, Fredrick “Fritz” Peter Falkson and wife, Cathy of Winston-Salem; a daughter, Jamie Ann F. Cooper and husband, Michael of Jacksonville N.C.; two stepsons, Aaron Madril and wife, Jennie of Virginia Beach, Va., and Bruce Townsend of Palm Springs, Calif.; grandchildren, Reid Falkson and Ashley Elizabeth Cooper.
The family suggest that memorials be directed to Brody School of Medicine, Surgical Oncology Division, 600 Moye Drive, Greenville NC, 27834.
