Paula M. Garvin

Mrs. Paula Avita Moore Garvin, age 70, a resident of 1618 Memory Lane, Chocowinity, died Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012, at UHS-Beaufort Hospital in Washington.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington, officiated by Apostle Dennis Jacobs.

Mrs. Garvin was born in Selbyville, Del. on Sept. 5, 1941, daughter of the late Malachi Moore and the late Della Mae Bailey Moore. Following her graduation from high school she became a New York Certified Medical Home Health Aid. She married Ardo I. Garvin II on July 25, 2008, who survives. Mrs. Garvin was a member of The Word Warehouse Church in Goldsboro.

Surviving along with Mrs. Garvin’s husband Ardo of the home is a son, Anthony L. Cummings of Freeport, N.Y.; seven grandchildren, Rosetta M Hatcher, Jamel L. Cummings, Rashad L. Cummings, Nakeya L. Cummings, Natasha L. Cummings, Rashawn L. Cummings and Shania L. Cummings; and two great-grandchildren, Symair M. Alexander and Sasha M. John.
