There is no question that Project New Hope is a worthy cause. So was the Turnage Theater. More importantly, I resent the idea that the City Council has to decide on my behalf which nonprofit cause I should be forced to contribute to.
There was an interesting article in the Raleigh News & Observer concerning what the people in Raleigh did to the Ambassador Theater. If the people in Washington had used a little intelligence and done the same thing to the Turnage, we’d be in a lot better shape today.
