On Sunday, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a breaking and entering at a home on Old Blount’s Creek Road, Chocowinity.

Patrol deputies responded to the scene and learned two people had entered a residence and removed copper wiring from the walls and ceilings of the mobile home. Deputies collected evidence at the scene and interviewed suspects.

As a result, Sgt. Ernest Moore arrested Steven Lane Inman, 21, and Heather Elizabeth Ladd, 26, both of Old Blount’s Creek Road, and transported them to the magistrates’ office. Each was charged with one count each of breaking and entering and one count each of larceny after breaking and entering. Inman was held on a $10,000 secured bond. Ladd was held on a $5,000 secured bond.
