Mr. Clarence R. Nobles, 82, died Friday, Feb. 24, 2012.

The funeral service will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel in Vanceboro. Burial will follow in Celestial Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Nobles, a native of Craven County, was a lifelong resident of New Bern. He was a veteran of the United States Army, and was the owner and operator of A & A Auto Parts Store in Bayboro and Oriental. He was a member of Oak Grove Free Will Baptist Church. Mr. Nobles and his wife enjoyed camping with family and friends for many years. After his retirement, he enjoyed spending time repairing golf carts and was an avid woodworker.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lucille Chandler Nobles; sisters, Lillian Nobles Carrow and husband, Charlie, of Chocowinity and Ruth Nobles Tripp of Stedman, N.C.; and 17 nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until the funeral hour Sunday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Oak Grove Free Will Baptist Church, 1700 Wilmar Road, Vanceboro, NC 28586.
